The newly elected Board Chair will serve a one-year term as Chair and the new Directors will each serve three-year terms from 2026 to 2029.
The OPMA Board Executive committee includes:
- Chair - Dustin Wellman, Wonderful Sales
- Vice-Chair – Steven Roberts, Vineland Growers Cooperative
- Treasurer – Steven Moffat, North American Produce Growers
- Immediate Past Chair – Dan Tukendorf, Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association (OFVGA)
New Board Chair Dustin Wellman brings expertise, a strong commitment to the produce industry and an unwavering commitment to the future growth and success of the OPMA. He has been a member of the OPMA Board of Directors since June 2022 and most recently held the position of Vice Chair.
“I’m truly honored and excited to serve as Chair of the OPMA alongside Steven Roberts as our new Vice Chair. I’m looking forward to continuing to advance our key strategies with the support of an outstanding Board of Directors,” said Dustin.
“Our industry has faced its share of challenges in recent years - but as we do in produce - we show resilience and continue to grow. As we look ahead, we must continue to strengthen diversity across our industry and within OPMA’s Board and membership. It’s essential to who we are and where we’re going,” said Dustin. “Above all, our focus should be on the strength we have together as an association—because we’re stronger as one than we ever are on our own.”
It was also announced at the AGM that one Director, Amanda Knauff from Taylor Farms, would be departing the Board in 2026. The OPMA Board thanked Amanda Knauff from Taylor Farms volunteering her time toward the industry and the association.
Two new Directors were elected to join the OPMA’s Board as Directors:
- Jody Mott, Executive Director, Holland Marsh Growers’ Association
- Justine Taylor, Chief Sustainability Officer, Topline Farms
Jody Mott has served as Executive Director of the Holland Marsh Growers Association since March 2012. She represents more than 125 farms in the Holland Marsh and surrounding areas, helping growers navigate political, regulatory, and industry challenges at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels.
Dr. Justine Taylor is Chief Sustainability Officer at Topline Farms, bringing more than 15 years of leadership experience in agriculture, sustainability, regulation, and industry advocacy. She has held senior roles with CropLife Canada and Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers (OGVG), and is recognized for her strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, and expertise in complex regulatory environments.
OPMA President Rebecca Harris congratulated Dustin Wellman on his new role as Chair of the OPMA and welcomed the new Directors to the Board. “On behalf of the OPMA Board of Directors, members, and staff we would like to congratulate Dustin on his appointment as Chair and to welcome Jody and Justine to the OPMA Board. Together, we are building a stronger produce sector in Ontario and setting the standard for excellence in our industry. The OPMA Board of Directors will continue to drive the OPMA’s mission forward.”
Rebecca further noted that “Strategy only means something when members feel it. The OPMA continues to focus on creating experiences and resources worth showing up for, and to telling the story of Ontario's produce industry to the people who grow it, sell it, and eat it. The OPMA is proud to champion this work on behalf of our members. We look forward to continuing to work with the Board of Directors to drive our organization and the produce sector forward.”
