Update on SAWP Extensions

The Temporary Foreign Worker Program is proceeding with the processing to allow workers to continue working beyond their end-date as identified on their employer's LMIA and, for some workers, extend the work duration beyond 8-months to applications under the SAWP for the 2020 season. 

Extensions will be limited to one month in order to recognize investments already made by workers and foreign governments to prepare the existing pool of workers who are ready to travel. The extension process is currently not available for positions located in Quebec, as consultations are ongoing.
